In 2005, I went to one of the biggest Super Smash Bros Melee
tournaments in the world (MELEEFC). It was held in Indiana and
probably over 200 to 300 people attended (from all over the world.). I
think it was 70 dollars for the whole weekend, including food and all
entry fees. I drove with Mikey and the craziest thing happened to him
that day of the tournament (hisDad died that day). He chose to still
go to the tournament to try to get his mind off of it. The drive there
wasnt too bad, but once we got near the backroads that led to the
Church at which it was held rain just started pouring so hard that
there was nearly zero visibility. Eventually we got there but that had
to have been the craziest rain I have ever been in.


I was so excited when we got there, the room had like 50 or more TVs.
This was my last official tournament before I retired from playing
smash. I think I have been playing it for like 5 years or more. It is
the most addicting and fun game ever.

We had a very busy winter in 2006 because Susan and I planned things to do every weekend. One fun thing we did was take a trip with Cynthia and Susan down to Maryland to meet up with some friends to go skiing. Nothing too interesting happened on the drive there. But toward the end I was freaked out by Susan's driving because there were many winding dirt roads and she was driving with a lead foot. I commented a whole bunch about how I was fearing my life! I think I like being in control in those types of situations.



Anyway, we got to this beautiful mansion tucked away in this really nice neighborhood. Most of the people there were from Maryland and we all just played games and drank the whole night. One game was beer pong which I didnt participate, but we think that either that game (drinking out of random cups) or the hot tub and skiing attributed to Susan getting sick after the trip. I ended up going to DCI Finals in 2002 with Elizabeth, Chris and Emily. I really liked Indianapolis. The downtown was very clean and renovated and was not thinking it would be as nice as it was. Liz and I drove seperate because we were hanging out in Valpraiso and I guess Chris and Emily drove straight from Detroit. Liz and I ate some dinner at this Bar/Restaraunt near this huge mall. There were a lot of dorky dudes walking around because there was this big gaming tournament with Magic the gathering cards or something.



Anyway, theres nothing entirely interesting about this memory. I just wanted to post one with Emily and Chris. When Liz and I got to the stadium, we ended up walking straight into the building without anyone taking our tickets (which we didnt have). So we literally could have watched it without paying the 50 bucks. But Chris had already purchased the tickets for us so I just paid him back.

newsie682 and I went with a bunch of friends out to a cottage in Grand Bend Ontario some of her sorority friends (including Kelly) rented out. I think we went out on a Friday or something and came back on Sunday. We only stayed over a couple of nights, but we had so much fun out there.



The drive was super easy from the Detroit area and we found it easily. That night we all got drunk and chilled out. The next day we hit up the beach, but before that, we stopped by the liquor store and it started raining like hell out. I ended up getting a wine bottle cap too for 2 dollars. I think newsie682 bought it for me.



The beach was really nice. We played a lot of football in the water with the guys that were there and I went on a nice walk with newsie682 out to the pier. I dont remember much more of that time at the beach, mostly just relaxing and drinking. But what I do remember is my run that I did before dinner that night. After my parents divorce, they got back together after about a year and were basically a little bit of a cute joke within the extended family cause they would always say "Oh yeah and bring the boyfriend."  So eventually my parents plan this huge trip out to Vegas to get remarried on what would have been their 25th anniversary had they stayed together.  We brought a ton of our family from both my Dad's side and my Mom's side and everyone who wanted to go was invited.  This is the one trip that I can honestly say that my parents went all out in.  I love family trips and hope to have a big one overseas someday.

I remember waking up butt early because my mom had to get to the airport 3 hours early before our flight.  I remember Dan and I playing a couple of classic old school games on his laptop in the airport.
