When I was in Grade 6, I remember our class went to "Shiloh Camp" for I think 3 or 4 days.
I was SO excited to go, because it was the first camp anyone had ever been on. I remember mum packing way too much for any occassion, in case it rained, flash flooded, was too hot, etc. She was the worry-wort mum that I think all mums are the first time a child goes to camp..
I remember eating way too much on the bus trip down, singing along with the Spice Girls cd someone had bought along...
I remember getting there, and "bag-sing" top bunk (we didnt have bunk beds at home) which I was so excited about.
I remember we did various rope activities, and other camp stuff...and then I started to feel sick.
I got so sick that I was made to lie in the teachers cabin on Ms. Downie's leopard-skin-printed bed (which smelt really gross) until the teachers finally decided to call my parents and send me home. I missed everything, and didnt even get to stay a night.
The principal was . . . Read More..

You always have like the little kisses in the schoolyard...truth or dare kind of kisses...but i remember my first real kiss with my boyfriend of the time...

he invited me along with his family to his holiday home which is out in the sticks somewhere, and i remember it was absolutely freeeeezing

we went out to the backyard, and saw the beautiful view of the hills below us...we were sitting on mildewed grass, our bums getting soaking wet lol

and ...we kissed! he was a good kisser. but it wasnt very romantic, it was more like ...you know in the film "titanic" when their kissing in the water and their so cold their shivvering? it was like "mm--mm--mm--wa" lol

but yeah...good memory...it makes me smile every time

Original Memory Interview Question

Where did your parents come up with the name that they gave you? Who chose that name and why did your parents say they chose it.

His Response:

My name stemmed from Davy Crocket and Dans stemmed from Daniel Boone. Typical names, Dave and Dan (To Be Settled In Barcelona), but I bet not a lot of people are named after them. Pretty good names mom and dad. Very American!

One year, my family and I drive a very long drive down to Florida in
Naples to see my grandma and all decide to drive even more to Key
West. Sandy also met up with us on this trip, of which I will post
at a later time.

But this particular memory involved a boat outing for a glass bottom
boat.

It sounded like a wonderful idea, so my parents paid for our seat and
we get out to this area where there was tons of beautiful fish and
things. Then the boat stopped and the waves began to control the
boat, sliding it up and down. Within minutes, I exited the room and
"got some fresh air". I was the first person who exited.

Minutes after that, my mom exited and barfed over the edge of the
boat. I simply laid down on the floor and sucked it up.

Sooner later, more and more people we outside catching more air and
spewing more and more. It was disgusting.

The final "survivors" were my grandma Renne and a small child who
enjoyed every minute of it.

There were probably more fish . . . Read More..

Original Memory Interview Question

Did your parents have any interesting stories to tell about the day you were born?

His Response:

My mom was anesthetized in an operating room and my dad wasn't allowed anywhere near the birth. So, nothing interesting from them on that day. Things have changed since then.
