Original Memory Interview Question

Did your parents have any interesting stories to tell about the day you were born?

His Response:

YES! as a matter of fact. My mother told me about her labor and that I was not a difficult birth but even so ...my memories were of a different situation. So I entered a program called "Primal Therapy" where you are brought back in your life by Hypnosis and relive certain stages of your childhood. They use this for a lot of different reasons from recollections of child abuse to investigating "Past Life" regression. In my particular case it was to find out how my birth was from my fetal perspective and as it turned out...I had a hard time before the delivery because (and it was confirmed by the Hospital staff) that the cord was wrapped around my neck prior to delivery but it was not for long and the Doctor said it unwrapped itself somehow just before I was delivered and he was surprised that it did. My Mother does not remember any difficulties with my birth but I at my infancy seemed to remember much more about it than was publicly known.

Original Memory Interview Question

How do you think your life growing up was different than what goes on today in a child's life?

His Response:

Children today are 'spoiled brats' direct quote from my Mother.

Well I would say this much, there are some kids who have been given everything and had to earn nothing and that is why they do not like it when they find out to make a living as an Adult they have to actually work. As a child I was given a small allowance from my Dad but as I got older I had to do chores or I didn't get the allowance at all. As I got older I started working part time after school to make extra money to help out the family as my father had lost his job and we were not poor but we were struggling to keep the bills paid monthly. Every time I was given my allowance I was told I had to give back some to my favorite charity and some to the church poor box ans some I had to save then the rest I could spend. Kids today do not get that same sense of responsibility as we did because they are given too many options for everything it is a 'Multiple Choice' life for them we were given less choices.

Original Memory Interview Question

How did your parents meet? What was their life like when you were first born? Do you remember certain things about them at a very early age?

His Response:

I have been given different versions of the meeting of my parents but I do know that my Mother was a widow at the time with a small family of at least 4 children. They married in New Brunswick where they met and moved to Ontario just before my brother was born in 1950.

Original Memory Interview Question

What types of family traditions did you experience at a very early age?

His Response:

We had a tradition of monthly family gatherings hosted at different relatives houses each month unless it was a month that also held a major holiday like Christmas or Easter and in that case it was usually held by my grandmother at her home. We were a very matriarchal family run by the female members of the family like my Grandmother, or an Aunt, or my Mother.

For my 23rd birthday I wanted to do something really fun, because I usually don't do much to celebrate my birthdays.  Kelly suggested that we do a girls night in Canada because we still thought Canada was fun and Kate and Jill weren't 21 yet.  So we decided to spend the night at the Windsor Casino hotel and just wander around and hit up all the bars without having to worry about who would drive home.  We all drove over to Canada in one car, and for some reason we decided we would bypass the duty free liquor shop and just find some liquor once we got to Windsor.  Well, we drove around for about 20 minutes, and couldn't find anything.  Finally, we stopped at what looked like a convenience store, but they didn't sell alcohol there (because Canada is weird).  The convenience store was run by an Asian man, and we asked him for directions to the nearest liquor store.  He gave us directions by telling us how many "twaffics" (traffic . . .
